FMC Ice Sports rinks offer skate sharpening:
- Skates in good condition: $10
- New, badly damaged, or figure skates: $15 (due to extra time and machine demand)
StinkySocks Office offers skate sharpening at their Seaport office. Basic sharpening: $10. Hockey skates only (no figure skates). Appointments can be booked online but are not required.

Public Skating
FMC Ice Sports offers public skating sessions year-round across their Greater Boston area rinks (only select locations stay open during the summer).
LIMITED-TIME EVENT: FMC's Cool Off for a Cause runs July 13–24, 2026 at participating rinks, offering free public skating (suggested donation) to benefit The Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. See the link below for participating rinks and session times.
Warrior Arena also offers public skating sessions year-round ($15 for weekendays/$18 for weekends) and hosts Friday Night Rock 'n Skate, 9:00 – 9:50 PM, with a DJ and lighting. Admission is $18 (all ages), skate rental $6. Pre-registration is preferred and guarantees a spot; schedules are subject to change, so check the current calendar before you go.
Public Stick and Puck
Warrior Arena Public Hockey (Stick & Puck; co-ed)
- $15 weekday, $18 weekend
- Holiday rate: $18 (includes April vacation week)
- Goalies skate free
